Why guests pick João d'Arens.
The shortest crossing from Portimão takes you straight to the cliffs the Algarve is known for: João d'Arens itself, then Camilo, Pinhão and Dona Ana — a chain of sandstone amphitheatres separated by the kind of beaches you can only reach by sea. We slow down for the arches and anchor in front of a beach you'll have largely to yourselves.
Routes are decided on the morning of the charter. If conditions favour João d'Arens, the captain reads the wind at the marina and shapes the day around what the sea is doing — never around a fixed schedule.
What you do
- Cruise the cliff chain — João d'Arens, Camilo, Pinhão, Dona Ana
- Anchor in front of João d'Arens beach (calm days)
- Snorkel and swim along the arches
- Lunch at anchor with the cliffs framing the boat
- Slow circle of the sea stacks before heading back
